Sabarimala Pilgrims Can Now Book KSRTC Travel Alongside Virtual Queue Booking

In a groundbreaking move for Sabarimala pilgrims, the Travancore Devaswom Board has now integrated KSRTC (Kerala State Road Transport Corporation) booking options within its official virtual queue booking system. This convenient addition aims to make the pilgrimage experience smoother and more accessible for devotees by offering an all-in-one platform for booking both virtual queue slots and travel services.

On November 6, 2024, at the Pampa Sriramasaketam Hall, a review meeting on Sabarimala pilgrim arrangements was led by the Honorable Minister of Transport. During the meeting, the Transport Department recommended that the online booking for KSRTC services be made available on the official Sabarimala Virtual Queue Booking website. This integration aims to support pilgrims with hassle-free transportation options and significantly improve their travel planning for the Sabarimala pilgrimage.

This new service allows pilgrims to pre-book their journey on KSRTC buses through the same site where they book their virtual queue slots. With the annual pilgrimage season attracting millions of visitors, this online booking convenience is expected to reduce stress and waiting time for devotees traveling to and from Sabarimala, particularly during the peak season.

How Pilgrims Can Benefit

This integrated booking platform means that Sabarimala pilgrims no longer need to navigate multiple websites or rely on last-minute arrangements for transportation. By planning both their temple visit and their travel in one place, they can:

  • Save Time: Avoid the stress of last-minute travel arrangements and guarantee seats on preferred KSRTC services.
  • Streamline Their Journey: Coordinate queue timings with travel plans, allowing for a smooth and timely visit to Sabarimala.
  • Reduce Crowds and Waiting Time: With pre-booked slots and travel, crowds at booking counters and bus stations are expected to decrease, making the pilgrimage experience more orderly and pleasant.

How to Book

To make a booking for both the virtual queue and KSRTC travel services, pilgrims can visit:

Both websites offer a user-friendly interface and are accessible on desktop and mobile devices, ensuring that pilgrims can book from wherever they are.

Conclusion

This initiative by the Travancore Devaswom Board and KSRTC represents a significant improvement in pilgrimage services for Sabarimala. Pilgrims are encouraged to make the most of this new facility, ensuring a smooth, organized, and comfortable journey to one of Kerala's most sacred destinations.

With these steps, Kerala is setting an example for accessible and convenient pilgrimage arrangements that meet the needs of modern travelers, and this service is a positive development for the hundreds of thousands of pilgrims who make the sacred journey each year.

Trip to Kodaikanal – The Queen of Hill stations

Trip to Kodaikanal – Queen of Hill stations This post is about our travel to Kodaikanal -The princess of Hill stations Hills and mountains always keep mesmerizing to me. So, we always keep looking for a chance to travel to hill stations and spend some time in the lap of nature, away from the hustle and bustle of city. I’ve of course travelled some of the hill stations (like Munnar, Ooty, Ponmudi etc) but Kodaikanal is the best I would say of all the hill-stations.  Just sharing my travel experience to Kodaikanal -in the lap of mother nature. Kodaiknal is the city in Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu. The nearby hill stations like Ooty and Munnar have been highly commercialized, but Kodaikanal still enjoys the advantage of being a picturesque hill-station.  Kodaikanal mostly encompass of a close community and other basic infrastructure. There are some beautiful visiting spots and the economy is mostly driven ...

The haunting story – Bonacaud Bungalow!

Bonacaud is known for its breathtaking beauty. Bonacaud was once a majestic tea estate set up by the British right below the Agasthya mountain ranges in Trivandrum.  Bonacaud is very close to Ponmudi hills, taking a deviation at the Theviyode Junction, takes you to Bonacaud. The road forward is fairly rough. Be careful as you drive along this winding road because coming across wildlife is a common occurrence. As you go on, you might get to see the Peppara Dam in all its grandeur. Getting a good glimpse however is rare as the area is almost always shrouded in a thick layer of mist. The plush green mountain ranges move past your windows and the buildings in the Bonacaud estate stand grimly in the distance. The journey started with one of my close friends, Rajesh and his wonderful team of colleagues.  Trekking expeditions are quite common in this area and quite a few groups arrive every day to explore the factory ruins and the famous, haunt...

Memories of the Nilgiri train journey!

Things disappear without your permission, then come back again without your permission. I just want to pass on some warped memories that came back from my Ooty train journey 10 years back exactly! I can't believe we just passed 10 years after getting married and I was looking back through our old photographs and so many loving memories flooded my mind. Nevertheless, I realized to share it here with snapshots from the old point and shoot! The journey happened soon after my marriage and we started searching for good destination (with my brother Santhosh) and we decided to go ahead with the Ooty one as we didn’t have enough time to look at other options. With Santhosh at Ooty garden spot Ooty is one of the best places to escape for an exotic holiday. The Nilgiri mountain train gives you best sights of this gorgeous Hill station.  It recaps the essence of Nilgiris, lush green tea-estates, towering Eucalyptus trees, stunning bridges, uncountable tunnels wher...
