🌅🌅🌅 Inauguration of Village Bus Service 🌅

The special KSRTC CNG bus service, a part of the Gramavandi project, begins to provide public transportation convenience to areas with limited transportation facilities, including destinations within the scope of local self-governance institutions, rural areas, and sectors contributing to social development. 🌈🌈 Inaugurating the Gramavandi project, jointly initiated by the local self-government institutions and KSRTC, on 16th August 2023 at Sreemoolanagar Grama Panchayath, Angamaly Block. 🌟🌟🌟

The event, graced by the presence of Mr. Anwar Sadath, the MLA of Aluva, will commence with a special function at 9:30 AM near Sreemoolanagar Junction. The Gramavandi service inauguration will be conducted as a part of this event.

🏝️🏝️🏝️ The project envisions resolving transportation challenges in various rural areas, including Thuruthupalam, Chovvara, Sreemoolanagar, Thiruvairanikulam, Sreebhutapuram, and other Grama Panchayath regions. Representatives of the public, authorized officials, and KSRTC personnel will participate in this event to contribute to the success of this initiative. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

My great day at Ponmudi - The Golden peak

Ponmudi – The Golden peak is located in the God’s own country, Kerala. The hill station is just 50 kms away from the city center, Thiruvananthapuram . We all connected and networked all through our life. I was just trying to break it out and welcome the nature with vast arms where silence greets you and you are cut off from the world. I just did that and got away for a Sunday, a retreating into the hills, running away from the urban civilization with my family. We felt a change immediately after we passed Kallar. The ride has turned out to be a smooth one and quickly we were inside the forest area. The roads were curvy but it was fantastic and I was really enjoying the drive. It was a thrilling experience to navigate all 22 Hairpin curves. The major picnic spot on the way to Ponmudi is the Meenmutti waterfalls. Have to trek 1km through the dense forest to reach the awesome waterfalls. We were really enjoying the climb through the thick forest....

Vellanickal Rock - A Replica to Ponmudi.

For nature lovers, Vellanickal, a verdant hilltop is the perfect paradise. The road to Vellanickal goes via rubber plantations and the stretch of the road is quite rough and proves a challenge to both driver and vehicle. It was tricky and treacherous with lots of twists and turns. We reached the hilltop at evening by car. The small roadside teashops will give a good treat to your taste buds with the indigenous cuisine. The changing face of villages and the influence of city culture can be seen throughout. The green fields and big old trees on the roadsides will surely attract you. The vast stretch of hills and valleys were enveloped with the clouds shades. It is a place for quiet meditation as you watch the sun sink in the western horizon. The cool breeze gives it the feel of a hill station. The haunting story – Bonacaud Bungalow!

Bonacaud is known for its breathtaking beauty. Bonacaud was once a majestic tea estate set up by the British right below the Agasthya mountain ranges in Trivandrum. Bonacaud is very close to Ponmudi hills, taking a deviation at the Theviyode Junction, takes you to Bonacaud. The road forward is fairly rough. Be careful as you drive along this winding road because coming across wildlife is a common occurrence. As you go on, you might get to see the Peppara Dam in all its grandeur. Getting a good glimpse however is rare as the area is almost always shrouded in a thick layer of mist. The plush green mountain ranges move past your windows and the buildings in the Bonacaud estate stand grimly in the distance. Things disappear without your permission, then come back again without your permission. I just want to pass on some warped memories that came back from my Ooty train journey 10 years back exactly! I can't believe we just passed 10 years after getting married and I was looking back through our old photographs and so many loving memories flooded my mind. From ancient days elephants have been an important part of the history and tradition of Kerala. It’s not a fairy tale but I want you to take through the visuals that I come across at Elephant Rehabilitation Centre located at Kottur. The morning sun in its childish drive lures myriad figures in the water reservoir with the black majesties having their grand bath – Both big and the small.
