കേരളസംസ്ഥാനത്തിലെ ഇടുക്കി- കോട്ടയം ജില്ലകളിൽ വ്യാപിച്ചു കിടക്കുന്ന പ്രകൃതി രമണീയമായ വിനോദസഞ്ചാരകേന്ദ്രം. നാഷണൽ ജിയോഗ്രഫി ട്രാവലർ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയ 10 വിനോദസഞ്ചാരകേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിലൊന്ന്.  

പരുന്തുംപാറ

കേരളത്തിലെ ഇടുക്കി ജില്ലയിലെ ഒരു ഗ്രാമമാണ് പരുന്തുപാറ. പീരുമേട് താലൂക്കിലുള്ള പ്രകൃതി രമണീയമായ ഈ സ്ഥലം പീരുമേടിനും തേക്കടിക്കും ഇടയിലായി പീരുമേട്ടിൽനിന്നും ഏകദേശം 8 കി.മീ. ദൂരെയാണ് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. പീരുമേടിൽ നിന്ന് 6 കിലോമീറ്ററും, തേക്കടിയിൽ നിന്ന് 25 കിലോമീറ്ററും, ദേശീയപാത 220 ൽ നിന്ന് 3 കിലോമീറ്ററും അകലെയാണ് ഈ സ്ഥലം. വളർന്നു വരുന്ന വിനോദസഞ്ചാര കേന്ദ്രമാണിത്. സ്വസ്ഥമായ അന്തരീക്ഷവും കാടിന്റെ നൈർമല്യവും അടുത്തറിയാൻ ധാരാളം ആഭ്യന്തരസഞ്ചാരികൾ ഇവിടെ എത്തുന്നു. നഗരത്തിന്റെ തിരക്കും കോലാഹലവും വിട്ട് നിബിഡ വനങ്ങളുടെ ശാന്തമായ ദൃശ്യം ആസ്വദിക്കാൻ ഉചിതമായ മലമ്പ്രദേശം ആണിത്. പ്രമുഖ വിനോദ സഞ്ചാര കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളായ കുമരകത്തിനും തേക്കടിക്കും ഇടയിലെ ഇടവേള കേന്ദ്രമായി പരുന്തുംപാറയെ വളർത്തിയെടുക്കാൻ ഉള്ള പദ്ധതികൾ ടൂറിസം വകുപ്പ് ആസൂത്രണം ചെയ്ത് നടപ്പാക്കി വരുന്നു.

An outing to Mankulam -Munnar

Aruvikkara dam in kerala is built across the river Karamana, located 15 km away from Trivandrum. The reservoir and the garden are the prime attraction of the dam.
